I offer a variety of workshops for Key Stage 2. Please see the descriptions below. All workshops are an hour long although they can be adapted to suit your specific needs if you require sdifferent timings.

Your community needs you! As members of the newly formed local Defence Committee you and your team will be tasked with making challenging decisions to solve a number of wartime situations which could impact your community. Your committee will discuss your options, agree on a course of action, and take responsibility for the outcomes.

Find out about the blackout, how to avoid being told off by the ARP Warden or fined. Discover how people moved around in the dark. Can your team find a way to use light outdoors at night without showing the enemy bombers where they are? Shine too much light and the Warden will catch you!

Find out how messages were sent when technology failed or wasn't available. The children will learn the basics of semaphore signalling. Using straws and paper, they'll create their own miniature signalling flag before taking on the Sempahore challenge. Working in small groups, they'll need to use their semaphore skills to complete the task as quickly as possible.

The prices set out above cover the cost for settings within a 30 mile radius of our postcode (TR2 4JH). We are very happy to travel further afield for an additional mileage charge of 45p per mile.

As it is imperative for me to arrive at your setting on time, if the journey is 1.5 hours or more, a fee to cover budget overnight accommodation will be required.
